Grade level: Secondary 3

Student readiness level: Mixed Abilities

The game is based on: Loop-based melody creation where students compose repeating melodic patterns using an onscreen keyboard with musical typing support, experimenting with different loop lengths and tempos to create engaging musical phrases

The objective of the game is to: Develop melodic composition skills, understand how repetition and variation work in music, learn the relationship between rhythm and melody in looped patterns, and explore how tempo changes affect musical expression and feel

While playing the game, students should experience: Playing melodies using both mouse clicks on the onscreen keyboard and computer keyboard musical typing, recording melodic ideas into loops of varying lengths, hearing their creations play back continuously, experimenting with different BPM settings to change the character of their melodies, and layering or modifying loops to create more complex musical structures

The interface should include: Visual piano keyboard with clear key labels and musical typing key mappings displayed, loop length selector buttons (8, 16, 32 beats), numerical BPM input field with increment/decrement controls, visual loop progress indicator showing current playback position, record/play/stop transport controls, clear/reset button for starting over, visual metronome or beat counter, playback waveform or note display showing recorded melody, and save/load functionality for preserving student compositions

This approach allows students to explore melodic composition through immediate audio feedback while learning fundamental concepts about musical loops, tempo, and phrase structure in an intuitive, hands-on environment.
