Prompt:
Create an interactive game called Library of Lost Words, targeting Secondary 1 Low Progress learners.

 

The design should be simple, child-friendly, and fully functional within one HTML file. Use emoji, clear fonts, warm colors, and fantasy-themed visuals with 8-bit graphic style. Present these visual elements throughout the course of the game.

 

Prepare a set of twenty words and sample sentences for this game.

 

Game flow:

1. The player explores a fantasy-themed interface (an ancient magical library). Begin with a simple cut scene displaying the sentence “The ancient Library of Lost Words trembles — you have just one minute to rescue as many glowing words as you can before its doors vanish into the mist forever!”.

2. The system presents a new word, with four potential definitions (one correct and three incorrect). The order of presentation should be randomised with each attempt. Do not repeat words during the course of a game.

3. The player guesses the meaning of the word by choosing the correct solution.

4. After guessing, the system reveals the correct meaning.

5. If the student has selected the correct meaning, the system shows a sentence (ten words or fewer) using the word that the player must then type out. The sentence should be fantasy-themed.

6. The game measures and displays typing speed.

7. Points or “word magic” are awarded for correct meanings and fast, accurate typing.

8. Include soft background music or sound effects, animated transitions, and a progress tracker (like “Crystals Collected”).

9. Game ends after 1 minute. End with a simple cut scene displaying the sentence “The Library has faded into silence, but the words you saved now shine forever in the Book of Knowledge.”
