By Jun Li I want to design a simulation interactive for my students. Grade level: Secondary 2 Student readiness level: Higher Progress (ready for challenges) The simulation is based on: how series or parallel arrangement of fixed resistors affects the current as an output of an electrical system The objective of the simulation is to: understand how the arrangement of resistors (and hence the total resistance) in the circuit affects the current flowing in the circuit. The current can will be shown by brightness of a bulb, loudness of a bell, ammeter or some electrical components which students can choose from While using the simulation, students should experience: making choices on the types of arrangements of resistors (series or parallel), have the choice to also change the value of the resistors. They can also choose the type of electrical components that will show the difference in the current value, e.g. bulb (with varying brightness), ammeter, bell (with varying loudness), etc The interface should include: the ability for students to the type of circuit (series of parallel), show the circuit being set up with the connection of the wires to the components and power source. Refinement 1: There is overlap of some of the text. Can we refine it? Refinement 2: When a new electrical component (a) is chosen, a text describing the component (a) is shown. When a new component (b) is chosen, the original text describing component (a) should now disappear, replaced by a text describing component (b) Refinement 3: the text (bulb) did not disappear when ammeter or bell was chosen
