About this Simulation

This simulation models how alpha, beta, and gamma radiation interact with matter and various shielding materials. Learners can adjust material thickness, observe penetration distances, and compare how each radiation type passes through paper, aluminium, and other barriers to understand their relative penetrating power.

Learning objectives: Distinguish between the penetrating power of alpha, beta, and gamma radiation | Explain how different materials shield against specific radiation types | Predict which materials effectively block each form of ionizing radiation
