About this Simulation

This interactive dice rolling model visualizes radioactive decay by using dice to represent unstable nuclei. Each die shows whether a nucleus decays in the next time interval, making the statistical nature of decay tangible and observable. Students explore how large populations of radioactive atoms behave unpredictably individually but follow predictable exponential decay patterns collectively.

Learning objectives: Understand the probabilistic nature of nuclear decay | Connect dice probability to radioactive decay curves and half-life | Observe how random individual events produce deterministic population-level patterns
