About this Simulation

This simulation demonstrates how light behaves when passing through different shaped apertures—circles, triangles, and squares—and projects the resulting patterns onto a screen. Students can adjust light color, observe shadow formation, and explore how geometric shapes influence light distribution and diffraction effects.

Learning objectives: Understand how light travels in straight lines and creates shadows through geometric obstacles | Investigate how aperture shape affects projected light patterns | Explore the relationship between light sources, cutouts, and screen projection
