About this Simulation

This interactive simulation models the turning effects of forces and lever systems in action. Learners can manipulate rod position, adjust forces, and observe real-time changes to system balance. The dynamic visualization helps students explore how distance from the pivot point affects rotational equilibrium and the conditions required for balanced systems.

Learning objectives: Understand how moment (torque) depends on both force magnitude and perpendicular distance from the pivot | Apply the principle of moments to predict when a lever system will balance | Visualize and calculate turning effects of forces in practical mechanical systems
